Greeting Blanketeers!  Intero Real Estate very generously donated to our Nevada County Project Linus Chapter earlier this year.  I’m passing along information about their charity fundraiser for anyone who would like to support this event.  Please circulate the following flyer to family and friends.

If you have a local business or are involved with a local business that might be interested in donating a raffle item for their silent auction, please let us know.

Thank you for your support!

Voting for the Project Linus Mystery Quilt Contest has begun!  42 finalists have been chosen and voting for your favorite Gracie Get Well Garden quilt will determine the winner.  There is a $1 per vote charge with a $10 minimum.  Your voting is considered a donation to Project Linus National Headquarters and may be tax deductible.  Anyone can vote through February 17 and you can vote more than once.

With over 1,000 participants in this contest, there are two Nevada County quilts in the finals:  #29 from Lisa LaBarbera (a Nevada County Chapter Blanketeer!) and #14 from Elizabeth Friedel.  All of the submitted quilts are awesome and it’s evident each entry was made with love.

The winning quilt will be selected February 18.  Good luck to Lisa and Elizabeth and thank you all for your support!

2016 Beale AFB Baby Shower

Thanks to the dedicated Blanketeers of the Project Linus Nevada County Chapter, the 2016 Beale Air Force Base Baby Shower was a success!  Here’s a photo and comments from the Beale coordinator:

We had 113 people in attendance at the Baby Shower and each family
was blessed with a quilt from you all!  I have attached the group photo of
the families with their blankets.

You all are such a wonderful group and our Airmen and their families are continually blessed by you! Thank you for all you do!

Last year, some of you were able to recognize your blankets in the photo.  This year, we have more smiling faces to remind us of why we do what we do.

Thank you to all who donated blankets for this event.  We’ll be participating next August, so keep those blankets coming!

This past August, our Project Linus Chapter donated blankets to the Beale Air Force Base for their annual Baby Shower.  This shower was for military families who are expecting a child or had a baby within the last year.  Our Nevada County Chapter and the Yolo County Chapter of Project Linus participated in this event, providing blankets for this special event.  Here’s a photo from the event:

Coordinators of the event thanked us many, many times for our support and participation.  Thanks to all of the Blanketeers who went the extra mile to help us support this special occasion!
